The Making of a Verified Route
We here at Verified Route have one thing in mind. That is providing the best "verified" routes that we can. Our definition of "verified" is this:
- A track point file is submitted for a route.
- A route is entered with the track point information and other pertinent data. That will include the name of the route, the distance of the route, country, state, zip code and other data to be determined. Why a track route file? This way we know that you actually went along the route vs. just making a route and downloading that. Remember our goal here "verified".
- Once the route is entered and all looks good the route becomes available for all to see without the verified flag being set.
- When someone else or the original person who entered the track file repeats the route with the data downloaded from this site. They then send in a verification track route.
- If the track route and the route download are within reason the same the route then gets the verified flag set.
That's all there is to it. Once the route has been entered into the system any registered user can then make comments and rate the route. Did the description and the route mesh pretty well? Is it a fun route? Would you recommend this route to another person? Is the type of the route correct? Only a registered user can make the call.
This is supposed to be fun. Let's work to keep it that way. We all know that not everything in this world is exact and there can be problems with any project like this. If we all work together this can be a great resource!
